- We're looking for an engineer who wants real ownership early: someone independent, curious, and pragmatic, with strong systems instincts and good judgment.
- You'll work across reliability, security, automation, cost, developer experience, and internal platforms.
- A growing part of the role is building the systems underneath how AI is changing work at Middesk: the infrastructure that lets people and agents collaborate safely, ship faster, and operate with more leverage.
- We don't expect someone to have seen every tool before.
- We do expect them to learn quickly, care about the details, and take responsibility for systems that matter.
- We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in our SF office.
🛠️ Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with genuine interest in infrastructure, platform, or systems work – you don't need to have done this exact job before, but you need to want it.
- Strong technical fundamentals: a deep, careful understanding of how systems actually work. This is work you can't vibe-code your way through.
- A fast learner who is reliable, humble, and excited to absorb everything from experienced
